Designing Unattended Ground Sensors for the 21st Century - Submissions are due by March 15, 2020.

Marine Corps units need a way to efficiently sense an adversary’s location or network signatures in a named area of interest using rapidly deployable sensors to provide timely and detailed information to aid a Commander’s decision-making.

This crowdsourcing challenge will help the USMC identify the technology options to manage and capture adversary signatures and locations and could provide activation information in real-time. Submissions to this challenge should consider being networkable, lightweight, disposable, and integration with user-friendly, intuitive monitoring display.

OPERATIONAL CONSTRAINTS

  • Technical boundaries: Must be able to transmit data or image files to an accessible monitoring system.
  • Operation conditions: Preferred ability to be able to withstand extreme temperatures.
  • Relevant technologies: Trail cameras, Raspberry Pi computers, and Kilswitch app or comparable mapping technology.
